Membership and Registration Fees
Annual Membership Fees will be charged at the rate applicable to the country in which the member is resident for the majority of the year.
Registration Fees for members registered with the Engineering Council will be collected by the Institution, together with Annual Membership Fees.

Membership Fees and Engineering Council Registration Fees (where applicable) are due payment on 1 January for existing members and on receipt of election/registration notification letter for new or transferred members (where a membership fee is due).

Retired Rates
A Fellow, Member, Associate Member or Associate aged 60 or over, who has been a member of the Institution for at least twenty years, and is no longer gainfully employed may apply to move to our retired rate which is a reduced membership fee. If you would like to apply for the retired rate, please contact the Membership team at confirming the above.
Financial Hardship
The Institution is committed to supporting its members during this period of economic uncertainty. If you are facing financial hardship or a reduced income resulting from a temporary career break e.g. unemployment, parental leave, extended illness or a return to full-time education, you may be eligible for a reduced rate of membership. In the first instance, please contact the Membership team at with your request. All requests will be considered on an individual basis.
