Maritime Innovation Committee - Outline of work
The Maritime Innovation Committee was established to discuss those areas in which the innovative and emerging technologies will have an impact on the industry, the profession and the Institution across all sectors in the immediate future and long term.
The Committee consists of 24 individuals representing the complete maritime sector both from industry and academia.
The following themes and topics have been identified:
· Design and Manufacturing incl. Materials and Coatings
· Hydrodynamics and Propulsors
· Power Generation and Energy Management
· Operations, Maintenance and Competencies
· Safety and Environment incl. Human Factors and Legislation
· Autonomy, Data, Digital and Cyber
· Business and Economics
Education and Research were considered to cut across all themes and sectors.
Sub-groups were established to consider the various themes and the output from the each of the sub-groups are published on the respective areas.
